Leak in Roof - GRP Valley Liner or Underlay Questions

by Diydodge » Sun Oct 19, 2014 10:32 am

Hi,
First post here so please bear with me.I have a leaking roof and the suspect area is the GRP valley liner in the valley between two roof apexes. I'm fairly confident in tackling the repair myself having just reroofed a garage but I have a few questions with regard to positioning of the underfelt around the valley liner.
How should the underfelt be laid around the valley liner because the diagrams I have found so far seem to suggest that it is laid underneath which surely that means if any tiles are compromised further up the roof the water is going to track underneath the liner and not into it. I also understand that a wide strip of underfelt should be laid underneath the liner to catch any water. Can someone provide some guidance or even better a diagram to explain the layout.
Thanks in advance
