by welshti » Thu Oct 30, 2014 4:02 pm

Hello all

I'm new to the site and want to find out what are the building regs and what insulation is best in my situation. ( living in wales )

Garage conversion to bedroom which has a concrete floor. I am trying to keep the thickness to a minimum so in need of some advice.

many thanks

Minimum 50mm thick kingspan insulation board is usually the norm but check with builing control it may vary from one local authority to another

I recall 100mm being mentioned, whether they were talking about kingspan or another insulation board i do not know.
I could get away with 50mm kingspan :-) but 100mm would give me a higher step that is not really suitable and i dont want to start digging up the concrete floor.
