Adding a Remote Light Switch for Hallway Light Switch?

by fjweaver » Wed Nov 19, 2014 1:57 pm

Hi,
At the end of my hallway by the kitchen I have a 2 gang/ 2 way light switch for the hall light and upstairs landing light.

No problem with the landing light but the position of the hallway light means that we have to negotiate from the front door a way to the light switch without tripping over anything in the dark.

So without ripping up floorboards & chasing down walls I was wondering if I could put in a remote switch by the front door (battery powered?) that could control the switch by the kitchen?

[Although 2/way there is only one switch for the hall light]

thanks for any suggestions
Frank

There are a number of wireless switches and I am sure there is one which will do the job. But not cheap and some will not work with CFL and LED bulbs so one has to read the instructions carefully.
