Hi there,

We are thinking about getting an american style fridge freezer. Do they need tubing/ piping from the cold water supply?

some do, if it has a water dispenser then it'll either be mains fed or you can get one that has a container that requires filling up with water.

The same with ice dispensers, some are mains fed and some you fill up with water.

Check before you buy, if you have mains cold water supply near to where the fridge will be, then they are a good idea.
