Installing Bathroom Architrave Where Tiles Run up to the Door Frame Edge

by Celery33 » Sun Jan 11, 2015 9:59 pm

We have just had our bathroom redone although unfortunately they didn't put a proper door frame on just a bit of mdf round the door which doesn't look very good. We would like to put an architrave to suit the rest of the doors, however the bathroom tiles already go all the way to the mdf frame. Do you suggest we cut the tiles on the wall (not sure how we would do this) or chisel out the tile width from the architrave wood (can't imagine this would be very easy either). Opinions would be most welcome.

Thanks

Could you not just glue the architrave to the top of the tiles?
