Concealed door closers

by bradshaw » Thu Mar 22, 2007 12:26 pm

Hi,

Am having a bit of a nightmare trying to install a concealed door closer. I have drilled a hole in the door and screwed in the main part to the closer. However am having real trouble trying to fit the plate to the door frame. The chain tension seems to either be too lose that the door doesn't self close, or too tight to be able get enough leverage to screw the plate to the door frame.

Is there some kind of clamp tool you can buy to help install this, or is there a much easier way to fit this which I haven't thought of.

Any response would be appreciated.

Cheers

Pete

Pull the chain out as far as it will go, then slip a nail in between the links, this will give you enough slack to fix the plate to the jamb. :)
