Hi there, my wife and I purchased our new home a month ago and have been slowly renovating it. We removed a wardrobe today and noticed that the internal (non load bearing) wall behind the wardrobe was bulging in the middle.

This wasn't picked up by the home report (it was behind a big blooming wardrobe) and we're wondering what it is. There is no sign of damp or mould anywhere. Any thoughts welcomed!!

could be just badly built.

If it is an old house it could be just badly built as WelshBrickie says - Does it appear stable or does it flex if you touch it?

How certain are you that it is not load bearing?

Have you used a damp meter to test it for damp?
