Pre-drilled Angle Iron Posts for Closeboard Fence?

by Tonyonly » Sun Mar 01, 2015 7:01 pm

Has anyone used pre-drilled angle iron posts for a 6 feet closeboard fence? It seems an easy option but are there drawbacks? If you've done it, any tips?

Hi Tonyonly
Perhaps you could explain a bit more on the idea. No matter how much I think about it, there's no way I can see it working, or being easy. How would the rails fit to the iron on each section of fencing ?

The only way I could see the rails fixing t the angle iron posts would be to drill through the rail and bolt the rail to the post? Not sure how viable that would be or how strong it would be as I am assuming that the bolts would be at the very end of the rail, thus not giving much "meat" to grip into?
