I have purchased a new bathroom light and went to change the one currently in use - which appears quite old.
When disconnecting the old fitting I noticed that the wires would not connect into the new fitting.
There appears to be some kind of "plug" that I need to connect to the existing wires to be able to connect into the new fitting.
Is this correct or is there something else I need to do
Thanks
CAN ONLY ASSUME THAT YOUR SET UP IS A PLUG IN TERMINAL
BLOCK .
YOUR TWO WIRES GOING 2 EXISTING FITTING SHOULD BE
RED / BLACK RED TAG = LIVE
BLACK = NEUTRAL
BARE COPPER WIRE WITH GREEN SLEEVING = EARTH.
YOUR LIVE FROM ABOVE SHOULD GO TO BROWN OF FITTING
YOUR NEUTRAL FROM ABOVE SHOULD GO TO BLUE OF FITTING. ( ISOLATE TO REMOVE BLOCK FIRST AFTER WORKING OUT WIRES)
