How to Cover up Cracks in Newly Layed on Plaster Around Chimney?

by gregorrobertson » Fri Mar 13, 2015 5:41 am

I recently plastered a chimney breast. Before I skimmed it I chipped away some but not all of the old plaster as the lady didn't want too much mess. I took off about 1m2 of the old plaster down to the brick and I left the rest although some of it appeared to be a bit "hollow". I skimmed the whole of the chimney from floor to ceiling. A month on, there are some tiny cracks appearing in the new plaster. Someone else has fitted a large TV on the wall and drilled a channel for the cables so there has been a bit of stress on the new plaster. I used two coats of watered down emulsion after I plastered. Is there anything I can do to make sure that the cracks don't get worse and to cover them up??
