Is This Newly Built Brickwork Pointing ok or Not?

by Essex » Sat Jun 13, 2015 2:59 pm

Some of the pointing on the brickwork our builders did seems a little sloppy to my layman's eye. Photos attached.

There will be an exterior wall insulation of 30cm on that wall + render on the outside (as shown on photo named InsulationAnddRender), but should the pointing still be done better than what it is like on the photos?

Will the brickwork as it is cause risks of damp and lower our sound insulation (we are near a road)?

thanks

the blocks don't need to be pointed to a high standard, its not pretty but not that important in this case
