We have a soil stack in the corner of our bathroom which vents externally through the roof. It is affecting our ability to implement the best design for the bathroom and a bathroom fitter has suggested that the soil stack is cut off below the level of the bath and an air admittance valve installed. This would solve the design issues but I am wary about cutting the soil stack which is the waste from the loo, sink and bath. Most research I have done indicates that if a soil stack is cut at all it should be above the level of the overflow for the sink. there seems some confusion as to whether it should be cut at all if it is the waste for the loo. Any advise? Thanks.
