Potterton programmer malfunction?

by bergerland » Sun Apr 03, 2011 9:25 am

Hi,
I have a Potterton EP3002 programmer, about 10 years old.
I am finding that the Central Heating is switching on when I have set the progranmmer to HW only. The only way to stop CH switching on is to turn off each radiator valve.

Any advice please?

bergerland,
Most likely that you have a motorised valve in the system and this is stuck on CH - time for a search.
end

Ep timers are pants, could well be it is gone.
If it needs replacing, buy another brand like Honeywell or Danfoss.
Get a model that allows for totally separate times for ch and dhw.
