Problem With Bolt Joint in Metal Bed Frame

Post by mikedomingue626 » Sun Jan 14, 2018 3:39 pm

Hi

I have a problem with putting a metal bedframe together. One of the holding screw bolt joint holders has fallen out of its socket in the frame.
When I put it back in, it is loose and just spins. This means I cannot screw the bolt into it as the receiving socket just spins.
I cannot drill a hole all the way through as none of the other joints will have this, resulting in a poor looking finish.
See drawing of issue

Is there another bolt from Screwfix or other way of fixing this?

Thanks

Had the same problem with my sons bed, I Work in an engineering shop & made a new insert a little bigger so it was tight in there.
There’s no quick fix with this, either weld it or drill straight through.

Thanks for that.

I managed to reinsert the holding bolt back into the bed and put it together.
