problems with shower waste

Post by sandybarn40 » Mon Apr 20, 2009 11:23 am

I have removed the bath from my bathroom and am fitting a shower only. whilst preparing the pipe for the waste under the floor boards, i dont seem to have a downward flow. will this be a problem or is there anything else i can do to get around this. The waste for the bath was above the floorboards and all the pipes end up in ceiling so not easy to get at.
Any advice.

sandybarn40,
The waste pipe must fall away from the shower or the pipe will block. You may have to raise the shower base to give the necessary falls.
end

Strange but I just found exactly the same thing when I removed my old tray. From the trap the pipe headed back uphill before hitting the soil pipe. It only went up at a very shallow angle and, to be fair, I never had any problems with drainage or smells.
