Push button cistern - button doesnt go back !!!

The button no longer 'pops back out' so it constantly flushes, so i have to push the 'tube' down in the cistern to stop the flow.

Anyone got any ideas on how to resolve this ?

Go to the push button cistern project you can work out from this how they work and make the necessary adjustments.
