Putting up Plasterboard Ceiling With Obstructing Electric Meter Box

Post by mjl117 » Sun Aug 07, 2016 12:28 pm

Hi
I'm planning to remove the ceiling in my hallway (the external part) and insulate the ceiling and re-board.

However in one corner is the electric meter box and fuse box, which almost touch the existing ceiling.

Moving the boxes is not an option.

What are my other options?

Thanks

A picture would be very helpful!
If moving the electrical equipment is not an option, you have very little to go with. The electrical equipment and any joints/terminals must be left accessible for any remedial work, inspection and test and obviously functionality.
Without know exactly what you are trying to achieve it is very difficult to answer your question, as it seems on the face of it, you have no options!

Thanks

Here's some pictures...

I'm considering giving the insulation a miss and just removing the artex and re-skim (avoiding the boxes)

Around the meter box I might get a carpenter in to fit some sort of removal/accessible box....???
