radiator dripping noise

by mark manning » Wed Nov 14, 2007 9:23 am

Hi
I have just moved into a new home (12 years old) and the bedroom radiator is making a loud dripping noise when the heating starts up ealy in the morning. the noise is like that of a tap dripping in a hollow bath, there are no cold spots and the radiator gets fully hot, the noise stops after approx half an hour by which time I have woken.

can any one help?

regards

Mark

Hi
Yeah its not just a expanding pipe noise, its not a clicking or creaking noise it is most deffinatley a dripping noise? any idea on what might be causing it, there is no water leak or signs of any previous leaks either on the walls or on the radiator.

strange I know?

Mark,

I have the same problem in my new house. Did you ever solve it?
I was told it was related to pipe expansion...
Help!
