radiator removal with thermostatic valves

Post by yrrab » Tue May 24, 2011 8:10 pm

I want to remove a radiator but I'm not sure how to close the thermostatic valve off. I've had a look inside but can't find anything to turn to shut it off. Do I just leave it on the frost setting and unscrew the valve from the radiator? I would have thought if I did this I would still get some water coming through. Any advice please?

Thanks stokedan 1. I took the radiator off. I was concerned that water might gush out of the thermostatic valve but it was ok and I have now put a cap on the valve.

TRV frost protection opens the valve at about 6 degrees i think so your ok taking the radiator off but like you have done you should always cap
