Re-Connected Rads

by Steve_P » Sat Oct 20, 2007 11:54 am

i had to take off 2 radiators a while ago and ive just re-connected them, i tightened the nuts, and opened the valves, then i bled them...

as i bled them the pressure decreased so i shut the vent and when to fill the system. the boiler was flashing 0.0 bar. i got my key and opened the filler but no water is coming in to fill the system up...

what do i have to do to fill up the system??

What's the make of the boiler ?

Is the filling loop fitted in the boiler ? sounds like it is if you need a "key".

if it is then inserting and turning the key, then opening the small tap, should fill the system. If it's not then it's possible the fill valve spindle may have snapped, so the valve is still closed.

But can't really say without abit more info, boiler make and model and type of fill loop

Steve give us an idea of the system you have is it Combi or tank fed to a indirect cylinder?
Also a little tip is to vent from the top when you drain down and vent from the bottom i.e down stairs when you fill, also you may want to top up with alittle inhibitor because if you are taking rads out to paint or move you are getting rid of the exicting inhibitor.
