Rehanging Ikea Faktum kitchen cabinets

by thisagain » Sun Oct 05, 2025 7:47 pm

Hello there.
I recently had to remove the kitchen wall cabinets to have new wiring installed in the kitchen area. (Ikea Faktum)
The handy man who assisted with removing the cabinets was of the opinion that it wouldn't be possible to rehang the cabinets as the holes where the plugs had been wouldn't be able to support new plugs and the cabinets.

Any ideas / suggestion on how the cabinets can be rehung safely would really be appreciated!

Thank you

Hi thisagain,
If you have solid walls either use longer screws and drill deeper into the wall or clean out the existing holes and use anchorfix.. if you have plasterboard walls use expanding fixings with a mudguard washer under the fixing you will need a fixing tool..

Thank you for the advice! It's a plaster and brick wall. The handyman said that because so much plaster and brick come out when the cupboards were removed it will be difficult to put screws in the same place as that area is weakened. I'll give anchorfix a look
