Remove Steam From Bathroom With no Extractor Fan? Drainage and wastage systems and plumbing help, advice and answers

Hi

I moved into my flat in early October and we're having problems getting steam created from showers out of the bathroom.

It's a small room with a small window and no extractor fan. Mould has already started to appear on the ceiling and on the shower curtain. I try to keep the window open after showering for as long as possible but have to close it when leaving the house as it's opens onto a public passageway.

The flat is in an old council block so I'm not sure how easy it'll be to get an extractor fan fitted.

Has anyone got any tips on how to reduce the steam/condensation?

It looks like you really have the answer, An extractor fan is the way to go. As to the installation, we would need to know a lot more about the property to be able to advise. Can I suggest having a word with a local electrician.

Might be a bit pricey but, in a similar situation I've had a double glazed unit made with a hole formed in it for a fan that is specifically for that location.
Provides ventilation and maintains security/privacy.
