My husband is disabled so when we were changing our bathroom to a wet room the company recommended installing a higher than average toilet therefore doing away for the need of a frame around the toilet. In fact we were so taken with the idea we changed the downstairs toilet too. Both toilet seats (soft close) never really fitted properly, not quite covering the length of the pan , but nothing major. My problem now is the hinges on both toilets seats are now broken and hanging off (probably because my husband does tend to plonk down rather than sit down!). I cannot work out how to change the seats because of the way the toilets are made I cannot get my hands underneath to undo the current fixing or put in the new, I think the toilets are called close coupled but I might be wrong. Also try as a might I cannot find anyone who sells a seat that would 100% fit the toilet. I'm loathed to pay £50 call out fee that the plumber charges if I could do this myself.
