Hi
Any ideas how i remove the paint from my exterior brickwork. i was told to use nitromorse but this didnt seem to work that well, not to mention the cost as i've got around 20 sq m to remove

Hello bob,
I found that the paint on our exterior brickwork started flaking off whilst I was pressure washing ivy suckers off the face of the wall.
So you could try a good pressure washer. Our paintwork is very old though, newer paints may be more resistant.

thanks for the reply but i have already tried that on a test area and it tended to blast the mortar out of the joints as much as clean the bricks so that is my last resort if there are no products

There are specialised companys that use a combination of sand and water jetting , allternatively there is a product Peelaway . this product must be neutralised afterwards and i wouldn,t recomend it if you where going to paint it .

Light sandblasting is an option , it can be very accurate if you use a small blaster , which will save removing mortar , It is however very messy , but it will remove ALL the paint in a very short amount of time and is probably the only option if you really want to bet all the paint of .

yes sand blasting will be the answer with care you should miss the pointing and blast the bricks.
