Removing Self Levelling Compound

by Badjob » Sun Apr 25, 2010 9:28 pm

Hi,

I am a very keen DIY'er and take on all jobs from building to general repairs - but I have run into a problem and hope some of you may be able to help me.

I have used self levelling floor compound with Latex from Wickes to level our utility floor. However the job has gone pretty badly and it has started showing several cracks and when I knock on it it sounds hollow.

The concrete floor was swept and hoovered before we started the mix was as per manufacturers instruction.

My questions:

1. Why has this happened?
2. What can be done to rectify this?
3. Is it possible to remove the compound if yes hwo do I go about it?
