Removing surround sound system tips PLEASE!

by johnwo00 » Mon Nov 27, 2023 2:40 pm

Hi everyone!

New to here so nice to meet you all

I am new to DIY... I just removed the previous owners surround sound system and now hoping to get some pointes.

1) what I should do to make safe the leftover black/red wires?

2) I also want to be able to fill, sand and paint over the holes from where the speakers sat (4 corners of the room) and also the wall socket which was used to control the speakers in different parts of the house.

Thanks
John

Are you sure you want to do this? you may want a sound system in the future?

Still, if you want to go ahead, as it was for a sound system (and the fact you have removed the other end) you can either:

1) Push the wires in (They are perfectly safe) and put a blanking plate over each box.

2) Just cut the wires off and remove the back boxes and fill in the space where the boxes were.

3) Do what you feel is right, as you will never come back and read any reply, from anyone.
