Repairing Wall Peeling Paint and Plaster in Kitchen

by Moomintroll » Thu Mar 26, 2020 1:38 pm

Hi, the paint and plaster on one edge of my kitchen wall has peeled/blown. What's the best way to repair this? Once Ive removed all the loose bits, what should I fill with? D I then plaster? Ive never done anything like this before but want to give it go and the best result I can! Any advice appreciated.

Hi Moomintroll,
Repair is fairly straightforward - Remove defective bits, fill with something like tetrion or polyfilla (not the premixed stuff), let it dry and sand flat using 80 grit paper, apply a watered down coat of emulsion, paint preferably using a breathable emulsion paint.
The main issue will be why the paint is bubbling and this must be addressed before you do any making good.
Regards, S
