Hi,
I want to update my stair balustrade and newel post. The newel post goes from floor to ceiling. Are these load bearing, can they be remove and replaced with short posts? Was looking at buying a kit.

Hi martin23.
I would guess that the ground floor post is part of the stair structure so no it should not be removed. The first floor section may not be structural - go in the loft and see if the top is attached to anything.
