replacement dimmer switch does'nt work Ask questions and find answers to many subjects relating to electrics and electrical work

hi i have just join this web-site and i have a bit of a problem ,i got the wall redone so i decided to replace the old dimmer switch with a new one ,but now i can't get it to work at all any ideas[/i][/b]

Assuming two wires in both units and straight swap may be it does not match the type of lights. But without a lot more info couldn't help and so many different dimming switches even with information not sure if I could help. But at least give us the number of lights and type of lights i.e. standard bulbs or extra low voltage with transformers etc. And at least the size of dimmer unit 200w or 1000w etc. Wattage of bulbs also maybe we will see some error?
