Replacing Door Hinge on Back Door

by Ace00 » Thu May 26, 2022 6:18 pm

Hi, I need to replace the hinge on my back door. Due to new flooring being placed, it has raised the height of the floor and caused the bottom of the door to scratch against it when opening.

I am looking to replace the current hinge (image attached) with a rising butt hinge to raise the door when being opened, but can not find one that suits it.

Can anyone advise?

Hi ace00,
Suggest you cut the bottom off the door - rising butts are no a good idea. You may have to rebuild the bottom door rebate and frame to give adequate sealing.
