Replacing Single Brick Skin Wall With Breeze Block Wall

by mataus » Wed Jan 31, 2018 11:30 am

I want to replace a single brick wall which holds up the roof to my utility. The wall is non external, as next doors extension runs the length of the current wall. I’m not sure of the age of the current wall (house is 1930s), but I want to raise the roof by 2ft (so matches the flat roof of my garage). The current wall doesn’t look in great condition, so I want to take it down and replace it. As the wall won’t be taking much weight (just a simple flat roof) and won’t be external facing, can I use 3.6n 100mm breeze blocks? The utility area is accessed via an external kitchen door and is used for storage and only has a washing machine & dryer inside. The wall will be approx 5m in length and approx 2m high.

Thanks Matt
