Replacing the lock from the inside

by TonyW3 » Tue Nov 21, 2023 12:58 am

Hi
I have a knackered 'Espag' lock (I believe that's what they are called) on the top section (12") of a window on the second floor bathroom window. Assuming I can get the correct parts, is it possible to replace from the inside? Having turned 60 now I am not keen using ladders from the outside :-)
Any advice would be welcome
Cheers
Tony

Hi tonyw3,
It’s very doubtful that you will be able to do this from the inside. Probably best to hire a tower or lift and work off this, your biggest problem will be getting an identical replacement.
