Repointing DPC Jointring With Brown Mastic?

Post by gotabelt » Sun Dec 11, 2016 11:17 am

I need to repoint the DPC joint on my property. I am not particularly good at brickwork and have been considerering using brown mastic after removing the old & loose morter. I would be interested in any opinions about this idea.

brown mastic wont adhere to the joint, its best to use sand and cement at 4:1 ratio

Welsh Brickie,

thanks for quick reply. I will follow your advice. Probably wait for warmer weather though.
