Riser blocks I think in windows?

by Big100boss » Thu Aug 26, 2021 5:22 pm

Hi , moved into new build 7 months ago and began to have issues with some of the windows not closing as they were catching on the small plastic block in the photo. We were told by maintenance these are for transport only and should be removed which they then did and windows work fine. Having looked into the blocks appears they may be riser blocks which are used for other purposes , anyone any advice ?

Hi big100boss
Some window manufacturers supply windows with these some don’t. They are intended to provide support for the window - if they do not create closing issues it’s better to keep them fitted. Time will tell whether they should have been left in place - your windows will start to catch on their outer edge when being closed.
Regards S
