Router and Router Table for Building Kitchen Cabinets

by CPH » Sun Sep 17, 2017 4:24 pm

We are about to start building our kitchen cabinets and doors etc. I admit, I have never used a router before so unsure which one I should be buying. I need one able to do tongue and groove and various simple decorative finishes, nothing fancy.

Research suggests that using a router in conjunction with a table is the most effective system.

What is a good router to go for and will it be fixable to a table? Should it be plunge or fixed, or both?

What is a good table to go for? Desk top is fine as I could make it fit into my workbench if need be.

We are looking for mid price tools.
