Hi
I've sanded a number of floors over the years and they all pose some problems to which I usually work around and they turn out quite well.
I've just moved and the boards in this house are in a bad way. With a lot of effort they are coming up well but i just can't work one problem out...
There is a double sided strip of adhesive that runs along 2 walls but looks like it's been down for decades under the old carpet. I've tried to scrape it and chisel it away but it's so thick and old, it won't budge. If I try sanding it, it ruins the paper or disc irrespective of grit 24 - 120.
I thought of replacing the board(s) but as it runs along 2 walls that means almost all the boards.
Does anyone have any ideas please?
