Scaffold Hire

by alfie_j » Sat Aug 16, 2025 2:24 pm

I have two chimney stacks on a gable end of a Victorian semi that need repointing and maybe additional repairs.

I'm capable of doing the repointing myself but will need scaffolding to get access.

There are lots of scaffolding companies in my area but what terms do they typically operate on?

I'm assuming there is a charge for erection and dismantling, but are there extra hire charges (eg per week/month)?

I'm not sure how long the job will take until I can get up to assess what reeds doing and to allow extra time to engage roofers if necessary.

Why don't you ask your local scaffolding company what they charge and what for, anything else is just a guess.

I just got some quote for my bungalow for 10' high by 10met long anywhere between £270 to £450 for 2 weeks.
I just purchased some secondhand scaffold & boards on face book for £380 deliverted. I can sell it on after or keep it.
