Re: Bath leaking from plug/waste - what to replace/fix? :S

Just to update: I've got one of these: m I tightened the nut that's in the middle of the stainless plug and that got rid of 99% of the play in the waste pipe beneath it and the worst of the leak, however there is still a drip coming from around the seal. My guess would be that the washer has failed,...

Bath leaking from plug/waste - what to replace/fix? :S

Hi all, I'll do my best to explain what's happening. We've started to get a lot of water leakage when draining the bath. I've had a look around the trap and the waste pipe and it appear like the seal, or whatever it may be called, between the underside of the plug and the waste pipe/plug outlet has ...

Bedroom light fitting - quick question

Just taken an old light fitting down and I have, 1 red, 1 green/yellow, 2 black.

Usually I'd connect

red - brown
black - blue
earth - earth

Now I'm guessing one of the blacks is switched live? How do I tell which black to connect to blue? Then where should the other one go?

Thanks!
Rich

Glowworm boilder - SwiftFlow - Thermocouple broke?

Hi all,

When I run hot water the pilot light appears to blow itself out after about 10-15seconds. Is this likely to be a thermocouple problem? If so, what course of action do you guys reccommend?

Cheers,
Rich

Extending stench pipe on exterior wall

Hi,

Im having a new bathroom fitted and we wish to move the toilet from its current location. As such, we're going to have to extend our stench pipe.

Could anyone give me any info or price guidelines for the extended pipe?

Cheers,
Rich

Changed ceiling light - knock on effect - help needed please

Hi, I changed a ceiling light in one of our berooms last night, however this appears to have now disabled the use of our landing light! :? The light was an old ceiling fan, left over from when we bought the house about a year ago, and is now replaced with a standard rose and pendant. Our house is so...
