Thanks for your answers but I have not explained it well enough. The light can be adjusted to come on when dark and off in daylight but will come on again in the daylight and stay on, so I was wondering if the brick wall close to the side of it is being detected which I thought was making it come on...

I installed the light outside my attached garage on a brick pier next to my house wall which is running 9 inches away along side the brick pier but trying all adjustments it will only come on when it is dark but never turns off after a while.
