I'm resding this as the flow and return are the wron way round on the boiler. If this was the case it would not work full stop. It would trip out after a few minutes, unless I suppose the pump has been turned around. Its kind of hard to know from the imformation wat the problem is but ditch British ...

If installing thermostats on all rads it is best to not fit one in the room where the room thermostat is located. Also it is advised to install an automatic bypass.

The releif pipe can be terminated in a drain with the aid of a tungdish to make it visible, so if the boiler backs onto the bathroom then is their not a waste pipe outlet you can connect into and extend, remember to put a trap on this. You will need to also run a condense to drain outlet.

You can tell if the pipe is barrier by the markings on the exterior. The barrier is marked with blue ink and the non barrier with blue. However the original pipe that creates the problems is marked in blue ink (hot and cold services and for central heating). This pipe however does breathe air and is...

as Roseberry said, depends if the pipe is barrier, if not then it could well be the cause. If it is severe black sludge accumulated in just 6 years then you have a problem that you must sort out now !
