flow from your boiler goes into port 'ab' when the heating control calls for heat, the water will divert and come out of port 'a'. when the cylinder stat calls for heat, the diverter valve will swing to port 'b' to feed the cylinder. if both hot water and central heating are calling then the valve w...

this is the method i use when coming across systems that have no drain off:-

http://www.awin1.com/pclick.php?p=18830 ... 071&m=1228

clamp this to your lowest point, connect a hose and drain down.

when your finished, cut that little section out and replace with a yorkshire tee with a drain off while its drained down

saves alot of time

brackets should have come with the toilet that screw down to the floor. your toilet pan then sits over these. the screw goes through the side of the pan into the bracket.

if it didnt come with any brackets, a piece of wood is just as good

sadly mate it doesnt work like that. as thedoctor said, its the head from the tank that forces the water out of your tap. if your wanting to drain the cylinder, (if the original installer put one in)there should be a drain cock on the pipe that feeds the cylinder. if not then.............well..........

sounds like the boiler is 'kettling' which can be caused by the pump not kicking in to take away the heat, or trapped air. since youve just taking off a radiator, im guessing its trapped air

before i start, what you have done to the vent is VERY VERY dangerous! remove the check valve immediately! height of the tank isnt your problem, its the way its been plumbed up. the correct way is as follows . . . (VENT)~~(FEED)~~(PUMP) and its recommended that this set up is within 150mm with this ...
