skirting boards

my skirting boards are a real mess. they have several layers of paint on them and look rough and rubbish. what is the easiest cheapest and quickest to clean them up and get them looking ok. i wanna strip them but just re wallpapered and couldn't do it without a heat gun.

i have just laid floor tiles in my kitchen. they are only cheap floor tiles from homebase and previous experience shows they come up after a while and with it being in the kitchen i'm worrried they might come up if water is spilt on them :( is their anything i can get to put over the flooring to cov...

my bathroom is covered in artex which has been put on really badly. :( what is the easiest and cheapest way to get the walls looking better. i tried wallpapering over it with the wall doctor wallpaper but their are loads of air bubbles in it so it still looks rubbish. ideally i would like to just ha...

curtains :-(

i need to put curtains up in my new home. i don't have any wood or anything above the windows and the walls are wallpapered. is it possible to attatch curtain poles directly to the wall using no more nails over the wallpaper or do i have to get a piece of wood for the curtain pole to go on and if so...
