Re: Add to existing fence height without removing fence

A trellis is the usual solution. Fix 6’x4”x1” treated planks to your existing posts and then fix a 1’ trellis to suit.

Re: Extending exitsing concrete pad for garage

None. Sounds perfect. I’ve poured concrete for 35 years mate and that is exactly what I would do.

It’s bright red with a gold leaf trim.Thing is it’s starting to look a bit tired and could do with a touch up here and there. Its seen quite a bit of weather. It’s had m...

Re: Towable digger/backhoe hire

Hmmmm, Carl it seems like I said it would be easier to just dig it by hand than start dismantling and rebuilding plant machinery. A couple of good keen men can move quite a bit of earth in a day. The war you would have getting it in the garden and using it, (they are prone to dragging themselves around more digging anything) you may as well d...

Re: Installing Concrete Fence posts and Gravel boards on a fence line that has a curving bend.

Depends how fast the curve is. They will sit in place on a VERY slight curve. After that you can point/cement the gravel boards in place. A faster curve still and you will need to double up on your fence posts.

Laying concrete flags on a 6mm limestone screed?

Hi, my name is Jason, a groundworker of 35 years. I need to lay 2x2 concrete flags for a driveway on a sand screed which I cannot do in wet weather. However, I was thinking I could lay them on the 6mm limestone screed used on permeable block pavior driveways. If all the edgings are in place and the ...
