I drilled a pilot hole just below the plinth and 30mm in I hit metal. It also sounds hollow below the length of the plinth where it sounds "normal" above it.
Hi everyone, Recently moved and looking to put up curtain poles but nearly every window has a wooden batten above the window. This wouldn’t normally be an issue but where I’d like to attach the brackets would be very close to the top/bottom of the wooden plinth. Therefore imo not providing adequate ...
Hi Eric, If I’ve posted this in the wrong place then please just say that. I posted it here because from my amature perspective my CH and HW all comes under the central heating title. My question was about the wiring of my ‘central heating’ and to add a iboost to the ‘central heating’ wiring. Thanks...

Hi, I've had PV solar panels for a while now and finally brought a solar iboost to divert the excess solar generated towards the immersion heater. I'm fairly confident when it comes to diy and electrics but with this, I'm stuck. I feel like I have more wires than are needed and it just doesn't make ...
Your suggestion worked a treat. I used two L brackets I had in the shed, the first one slid under pretty easily, the second one needed a few wacks with the hammer which made it nice and secure.

I’ve changed the light fitting below my bathroom, the cables weren’t long enough so I lifted a floorboard and done what I needed to do. A while back we skimmed the hallway ceiling and I remember the plastered finding a rusty screw that poked through each time someone visited the bathroom so I though...
Hi, I recently had my hallway skimmed by a professional. There are a few areas where it's not a flat as it could be and gaps around the door frame. What's the best method/product to fill in these gaps/smoothing out? Before you say "get the plaster back in", it took me months to get one to ...
