Issue taking apart old armchair

Armchair frame.jpg Springs are joined to wooden frame by both metal and glue. Any suggestions on how to separate them? I'd ideally like to keep the frame intact for upcycling. Tried sawing into the frame to remove the part with the springs attached as you can see from the pic, but hit a thick metal...

thanks for your reply. that didn't work for me so i ended up chiseling the wood down to reach the staples.

Deep embedded staples - removing

Trying to remove a load of staples that are very deeply embedded in a divan base for an upcycling project. They're too deep and narrow for small pliers to get at them. Any ideas? Want to keep the frame for the new project.
