Your reply is ill informed, as TVR's will still open in cold conditions this is why they are suppied with blank tops, where you remove the TVR and fit the blank enabling maintenance/removal etc.

Yes, you can run then in the same trench, they come into the house together.
Just make sure you use Blue poly pipe underground.

tapping noise

Early TVRs had to be installed on the flow where as new ones are almost all flow or return.
If an older valve is fitted on the wrong side it could start tapping as it closes, test by turning heating on and see which pipe to rad gets hot first!

Hi
it sounds like your hot water is air locked, try putting hose pipe from cold tap to hot tap in bathroom, open hot tap first then cold (unless hose is clamped in place) get someone else to turn on shower, in hot only position.
Warning do not leave hose connected for to long
