Washing machine prodcts do cause blockages within the gully, this is caused by the powder and fibers in the clothes. Grease from washing your plates etc also cause blockages, this builds up over time. The bast way to clear the blockages in the gully is to use a rod with the black disc plunger on, ru...

You will need a good plumber o...

Putting in footings Neighbourly dispute

I am just waiting for the planning to be approved however, my neighbour disapproves of my application, and this will be a problem when I come to put in my footings as the wall will be along the boundary line with his property. There is a path running on his side but I need to put my footings in and ...

Hi This answer has been given by another member a few days ago DEPENDS ON THE DIAMETER OF THE PIPE AND LENGTH OF THE PIPE FROM TOILET TO WHERE IT ENTERS VIRTICAL SOIL PIPE. WHERE THE PIPE IS FOR SEWAGE ALONE A MODERATE FALL IS BETTER THAN A STEEP ONE. THE LIQUID SHOULD NOT RUN AWAY LEAVING DEPOSITS ...

May be too late in providing you with a reply but others may be able to use this, 9 times out of 10 the gully will block with grease and soap reside on the bend of the trap, by using a 4 or 6" plunger disc on a rod and plunging the gully will normally clear the blockage, run hot water down at t...

The CCTV will show all faults, this is the only way you will find the faults and find why it keeps blocking.

Ask for a Quick look to find the fault, should cost between £40-100 depends where in the country you are

Hope this helps,

Plenty of shingle on top of the pipe and lay paving slabs on top of that, this will protect the pipe, then back fill ground backfill to the top

I know this is an old post but if any one gets to this problem again then if you can see the last rod by using a mirror and tourch then use the other rods and pass up the pipe to the end of the last rod, try and locate the screw thread and rejoin the rods together. I get this problem all the time cu...

Hi Maybe a bit late at replying but, you should let all the owners of the other properties know there is a problem (Most will not want to know). Someone may know someone who can sort this, if not once you have checked the base of the pipe and bends for blockages (easy to do yourself). Remove the bas...

Hi, check to see if it is asbestos if it is you will need to get this removed by a specilist company. You may find that it is pitch fibre. I have been in the drainage business 17 years and have never seen an asbestos down pipe. If you have a leak in it like you say them your best bet is to cut off b...
