Train the kids to lock it. Ive been to countless burglaries where the door was only on the lacth.The insurance wont pay out either if its not fully locked.Thieves target upvc in the hope its not fully locked.

Is the handle loose ? The mech has probably failed.Call a locksmith because even if you do get it open then what ? You wont just pop down b&q to get a replacement as there are so many varients.

Sounds like the mech is broken call out a locksmith or glazing repairer. Unless you have the ability to deglaze the window and tools to open it call in a pro.

You have the rotation of the router cutter going the wrong way in relation to the front edge.It needs to spin towards the joint front edge not outwards. Either that or you are starting at the rear of the worktop and going towards the front perhaps thus breaking through and chipping it. A decent cutt...

Push the other half of the broken key into the lock and unlock it now you can remove the cylinder without messing about drilling it.

BTW a lot of new cylinders will defeat drill bits due to the hardened pins being incorporated into them.
