Does using a dimmer switch save energy?

Hello I have recently moved into a house where the central heating comes from a conventional boiler (not a combi boiler) and has a tank in airing cupboard for hot water supply I have now turned off the central heating but have set up the boiler to continue to provide hot water Naturally the radiator...

Wash basin stopper

Hello
Can any one help please
I have a washbasin waste stopper which to close I have to press down and to open press again.
Except it does not always open.
Is it repairable.?
If not what is its correct description and where could I buy one?

Thank you Perry 525 Your comment is both interesting and encouraging since I thought I now had an inferior system to the combination boiler which appeared to have very simple pipe work Now I shall have to spend time understanding the pipe work on my new system ,not to work on it but to understand it...
