As the pressure has been bad since you bought this new house, it sounds to me that it could be some grit/flux/debris stuck in a mesh filter somewhere in the tap. There may be one on the end of the spout which can be taken off with a spanner. Failing that, there may be one in the tap body. Hope thats...
